GCN WTF?

July 4, 2009

Continued from Part 6

The network this scenario has played out upon is the Genesis Communications Network - GCN. Both Alex Jones and Jeff Rense had programs on the network, along with other "patriot", "freedom", "liberty", and "conservative" alternative media hosts. I didn't personally start listening to GCN much except to Rense.

Jeff has had many different networks over the years; it doesn't really matter to me what network Rense is on, I'll listen.

When I had the opportunity to listen to radio during the day more often, a little over a year ago, I started listening to GCN more; that and various Ron Paul net stations that were active at the time. I have great respect for Katherine Albrecht and have interviewed her myself more than once; so I listen to her programs when I can.

I don't know much of anything about GCN and Ted Anderson of Midas Resources except what I have found on my own.

UPDATE - There was a link here to an article on the Christian Media Research website regarding Jones and Anderson & GCN. Since these pages were put up, the Christian Media Website has been hacked. I am working on getting the information on that page and hope the CMR site will be repaired soon. Yet another victim of the Alex Jones Machine.

Update #2 - The page that caused the hack has been recovered and can be viewed here

There's not a lot out there about Anderson and GCN. My initial impression was that this was yet another group of people trying to get a radio network together to broadcast information not addressed by the MSM, and having some success.

GNC seemed to me to be a set of programs and sponsors that covered all the bases: patriot, liberty, freedom, free speech, gun rights, alternative news, "conspiracy" theories, survival food, preparedness items, and of course...gold and silver. This seems like a great idea, we sure need more people to wake up and get the information they need to take care of themselves and their families.

But then the sponsors came into question. The "z" thing again.

When the SHTF with the GCN cancellation of the Rense program, I was shocked. When I figured out why, I was totally disgusted.

No info on owners but email goes to midas2000@prodigy.net.
This would indicate a connection between Midas Resources and GCN.
The webmaster is listed as Violet Nichols

Ted Anderson listed as President. That means HE'S in charge, right?
That's what I thought.

So... Ted Anderson owns GCN and Midas Resources. As Dana Carvey would say, "How convenient." Now, of course, this doesn't mean that all is not well, but it does make one wonder how much influence Alex Jones has over Ted Anderson. After all, it's obvious, Alex gets the people pumped up, and Ted delivers the metals to make them feel better. Alex has a platform for his videos and his online productions and Ted is there with the deals in gold and silver.

Everybody is making a pretty good dollar and the "message" of freedom and the war against The New World Order is being preached, granted, in a very loud and fearful manner, and not many solutions not involving a bullhorn and sending email and making phone calls...but preached nonetheless.

Pyrite - Fool's Gold

I have only had one encounter with Midas Resources. I took them up on the book deal for a copy of "The Creature from Jeckyll Island" (by G. Edward Griffen, 4th edition) with the "early 1900's" silver dollar. I wanted the book, and I wanted to check out the silver dollar. I probably could have found the book cheaper, but I like to support "freedom loving" companies when I can. I have to say, the service was mediocre at best. It took three phone calls over the span of a month to finally get the book. The dollar was definitely circulated as expected (1922) but it was just plain dirty. I had to clean it within an hour of receiving it just to look at it good and put it with my others. I was disappointed in the transaction. Apparently, I'm not the only one.

Where I work, we focus on customer service, theirs would not have made the cut, IMO.

I have also received a couple solicitation phone calls at home, a couple months later; which I did not appreciate.

The bottom line is Ted Anderson took orders from Alex Jones to remove Rense from GCN. GNC now appears to be a regular advertiser on Clear Channel. Patriots write checks to Ted, Ted writes checks to Clear Channel...yeah, that's the ticket!

And Alex gets them all worked up to call Ted.

Seems a tad hypocritical to me.

Ok, so now we have the players, let's get on with it.

It all seems like a big pissing contest to me.

Right this way......
